phew, thank god, I'm not too late!!
I really like the colours you used, the animation with the bird is a bit shaky but I see what you were trying to do, but yea overall the style is really nice
Edit - Frame rate could help a bit, but timing frames is a big part of it too, feel free to PM me if you want any pointers!
Thank you! I've never animated a gif before. Now that I kinda get how it works, I'm going to work on some smoother animation. I think I probably need to play with frame rate?
I will never get sick of dithering, also really like the composition with the different layers and whatnot
Ay thanks dude!
Is brea liom an pictiur, go raibh maith agat
I still got it 8^)
finally. somebody gets it
Great stuff, your style blends super well into animation. The outlines are a bit rough but I've only noticed that here and not in-game so I don't think it really takes away at all
Yeah, looking back I should have made clean lines which would have made coloring pretty easy, but I thought I didn't have the time lol. So in the end it actually took more time than If I had clean lines to color with.
Damn that's unsettling in all the right ways, great work man
thanks
Nice job on the sprite, I understand you're working on a project called Thorne, is this a separate project entirely? I think you did a great job on depicting the sprite itself, considering the limited palette and the size of the sprite itself.
Only critique is that I think the wind-up animation before the attack is a bit short, but it's hard to say 'cause I haven't played the game, that being said I think this has a ton of potential, good luck man
Yeah Thorne's an entirely separate project (Not set in even the same world). It's a larger scale one compared to "The Golden Flame"
The Golden Flame is sort of akin to how The Messenger was to Sea of Stars for Sabotage Studios, a smaller game to help get things moving and get some money for the larger project, while still being a high quality piece.
I really dislike indies not putting effort into smaller projects and half assing, so it's why I put real care into making the animations (and code) lovingly done. I want this thing to shine like a diamond.
Also it would be a fair critique if the enemy wasn't designed to be a really fast one. The idea behind it is essentially you need to predict where it will move to and go in between the gaps. But I may need to make it a tad longer, it is extremely quick even for the type of attack I'm going for.
With this project, I really want to make that large angel design that was shown in the quick rough sketch concept become a really well sprited and beautiful boss. Like that's what I'm real hype about. That's going to be fucking awesome for me :D
Anyway I'm really glad you like it dude, and I'm glad you're following along for this one. I definitely aim to drop more stuff in future for this and Thorne.
That's some nice modelling and composition duude
hehe thanke fella
Looks great, love the detail on the ruined structure
Big thanks!
Damn good stuff, not much else to say
hey thanks pal! glad you've been following.
